Forgive us! These docs are a work in progress. Some pages may be incomplete or describe features that aren't quite finished yet. Farkitect is in early development and we don't recommend using it for real work just yet. Feel free to explore — just be aware that things are still being built.

Inviting Members to Your Organisation

In this tutorial, you’ll invite a colleague to your Farkitect organisation, assign them a role, and see the invitation flow from their perspective.

Prerequisites: You’ve completed Setting Up Your Organisation and are signed in as an Owner or Admin.

Organisation membership is the gateway to project collaboration in Farkitect. A person must be a member of your organisation before they can access any of its projects. The flow is:

  1. You invite someone to the organisation (this tutorial)
  2. They accept the invitation and become a member
  3. You add them to specific projects with a project-level role (covered in Collaborating on a Project)
  1. Open the Settings panel (gear icon in the toolbar)
  2. Navigate to the Members section
  3. Click Invite Member
  4. Enter the person’s email address
  5. Optionally enter their display name (pre-fills their profile)
  6. Select a role: Admin or Member
  7. Click Send Invitation

An invitation email is sent to the person via Resend. The invitation appears in your member list with a Pending status.

The invited person receives an email with a link to accept the invitation. When they click it:

  • If they already have a Farkitect account, they’re added to your organisation immediately
  • If they’re new to Farkitect, they create an account first and are then added

Once accepted, the invitation status changes to Accepted and the person appears as a full member.

If you sent an invitation by mistake or the person no longer needs access:

  1. Find the pending invitation in the Members list
  2. Click Revoke

The invitation link becomes invalid. The person can no longer use it to join.

After someone has accepted and become a member:

  1. Find them in the Members list
  2. Change their role between Admin and Member

Only Owners and Admins can manage members. Members cannot change roles.

  1. Find the member in the Members list
  2. Click Remove

They lose access to the organisation and all its projects immediately.

RoleGive this to…
AdminPeople who need to manage the organisation — invite members, configure settings, create projects
MemberPeople who just need to work on projects — they can model, edit, and collaborate but can’t manage the organisation

Remember: organisation roles control organisation-level access. Project-level access is controlled separately — a Member in the organisation can still be an Admin on a specific project.
