Forgive us! These docs are a work in progress. Some pages may be incomplete or describe features that aren't quite finished yet. Farkitect is in early development and we don't recommend using it for real work just yet. Feel free to explore — just be aware that things are still being built.

How to use the related elements filter

  1. Select one or more elements on the Canvas
  2. Click the Related elements filter toggle in the diagram toolbar

All elements that are not directly connected to your selection are dimmed. Only the selected elements and their immediate neighbours remain at full opacity.

Click the toggle again, or deselect all elements.

  • On complex diagrams with many overlapping edges — isolate the connections for a specific element
  • When reviewing a model — quickly see which elements relate to which
  • During presentations — focus attention on a subset of the diagram
  • The filter is a diagram-level display toggle — it doesn’t change the model or hide elements permanently
  • It works with multi-select — select several elements and the filter shows everything connected to any of them
  • The filter considers direct relationships only (one hop), not transitive chains
