How to create and manage projects
You manage your projects from the Projects page on the website dashboard. (To create one, see How to create a new project.)
Browse your projects
Section titled “Browse your projects”Open Projects from the dashboard sidebar. The list supports:
- Card or table views — switch with the view toggle; your choice is remembered
- Search — filter by project name
- Filters — by Assignment (All / Assigned / Not assigned) and by your Role (Admin / Contributor / Viewer)
- A “Showing X of Y projects” caption, so a filtered list always reconciles with the total count in the sidebar
Projects you belong to your organisation but haven’t been assigned to appear marked Not assigned — you can see them in the list but can’t open them until someone adds you (see Manage project members).
Open a project
Section titled “Open a project”- Click a project’s name to open its detail page, or
- Click the Farkitect it! button (the brand icon) to launch the project’s model straight into the modeller in a new tab
The detail page has tabs for Contents (its packages, diagrams, and catalogs), Members (who has access and their roles), and a Danger Zone for admins.
Rename a project
Section titled “Rename a project”- On the project’s detail page, click Edit (or use File > Update Project… in the modeller)
- Change the name and details
- Save
Delete a project
Section titled “Delete a project”- Open the project’s detail page and go to the Danger Zone (or use File > Delete Project… in the modeller)
- Click Delete Project and confirm
Safety: Before deletion, Farkitect automatically exports the project as a .farki file, giving you a backup in case the deletion was accidental.
- Only project Admins can rename or delete a project.
- Deleting a project removes all its packages, elements, diagrams, and catalogs permanently (after the automatic export).
- The project’s members are not removed from the organisation — they retain access to other projects.
