Forgive us! These docs are a work in progress. Some pages may be incomplete or describe features that aren't quite finished yet. Farkitect is in early development and we don't recommend using it for real work just yet. Feel free to explore — just be aware that things are still being built.

How to browse and import from the Farketplace

The Farketplace is Farkitect’s library of reusable starter assets. It contains ready-made metamodels, sample models, and complete project templates that you can import to get started quickly.

  1. Visit the Farketplace at farkitect.com/farketplace
  2. Browse available assets or use the search box to filter by name
  3. Click an asset card to view its details — description, package breakdown, element counts, and diagram counts
  4. Click Download to save the .farki file to your computer

You can then import the downloaded file into Farkitect using File > Import… or File > New Project… > From File.

The fastest way to get started with a Farketplace asset:

  1. In Farkitect, click File > New Project…
  2. Select the From Asset tab
  3. Browse or search the available assets
  4. Click an asset to select it — the name, description, and content preview appear
  5. Click Create Project

This creates a new project with all the asset’s packages pre-loaded — metamodels, sample models, diagrams, and all.

Assets typically include:

  • M2 metamodel packages — a modeling language (ArchiMate, UML, C4, Logical Data Model, Business Model Canvas, etc.) with element types, relationships, notation, and constraints
  • M1 sample models — example content built using the metamodel, often based on the Farquind Yachts case study
  • Diagrams and catalogs — pre-built views showing the sample model in action

Assets are marked as either Project scope (creates a complete project) or Package scope (adds packages to an existing project).

If you’ve created a metamodel or model that others might find useful, you can publish it to the Farketplace:

  1. Go to the Dashboard on the Farkitect website
  2. Navigate to the Assets section
  3. Click New Asset and upload a .farki file
  4. Set the title, description, and publication scope (Personal, Organisation, or Public)

Personal assets are visible only to you. Organisation assets are shared with your organisation members. Public assets appear in the Farketplace for everyone.
